2011 DUCK ~ WHITE FRONTED GOOSE
AWARD WINNING DESIGN
This cachet is an original hand-drawn and hand-painted watercolor design which has been reproduced in full color. Much detail has been paid to the geese feathers, colors and shadings, even the ‘gleam’ in their eyes. The Scouting stamp is used for the 1st class postage, necessary to get the pictorial Duck postmark. Peering through binoculars, perhaps the scout is looking for some White Fronted Geese.
DGX #205 2011 DUCK ~ WHITE FRONTED GOOSE
This Is a proof cachet showing the design of the cachet without the Duck Stamp applied. The Scouting stamp is used for first-class postage in order to obtain the pictorial Duck Stamp postmark.

This cachet is a composite design featuring a portrait of Mark Twain, plus Huck Finn rafting on the Mississippi River, and a River boat, which was important in the life of Twain. The different parts of this design come together as one.

OWNEY THE POSTAL DOG

An inset shows a view of postal clerks standing in front of a Railway Mail Service train and a mail sack. There are two inserts — a text and a limerick with the title, Fiddler on the Woof lending a humorous approach to the cachet design.
